Ryan Bush - Tasteful Bush

The Experience:

For the Audience

  • 15 comics + 3 guest comedians + 1 host

  • Comics are pulled at random from the bucket — no one knows who’s up next.

  • After each performance, the host and a guest comedian roast, encourage, or react live on stage.

  • At the end of each round, the guest performs a polished 8–10 minute set.

  • You get the last laugh: submit roasts and “You Look Like…” notes to be read on stage in the finale.

For the Comics (Participants)

  • Sign up: Drop your name in the bucket before showtime.

  • Stage time: If your name is pulled, you get 4-5 minutes. No do-overs.

  • Feedback: After your set, the host and guest will roast, encourage, or riff on what you just did.

  • Energy: Keep it tight — you’re performing for a live, rowdy crowd that loves unpredictability.

  • Finale: Guests and host will close out by reading audience-submitted roasts — you might get one aimed at you.

The Inspiration

The High Water Bucket Pull Mic is inspired by Bad People, a specialty comedy show created by Lamon and Josh at High Water Comedy. See highlights from the first Bad People show below.

The Format:

15 comics.
3 guests.
1 bucket.

No mercy. Just laughs.
Some crush.
Some bomb.

Either way, you’ll be drunk through it.

Starting it off

  • Comics drop their names in the bucket for a shot at 4-5 minutes on stage.

  • Three guest comics join the host throughout the night — watching, roasting, and reacting after each performance.

  • Each participant has the option of performing prepared material or pulling a topic from the BAD PEOPLE bucket, including riff topics from the audience, the internet and the hosts.

Round 1

  • 5 Comics are drawn from the bucket and individually called for their 4-5 minutes of stand-up.

  • Host + Guest 1 break down each set with jokes, props and roasts.

  • Then Guest comedian 1 performs their own 8–10 minute set.

Round 2

  • 5 more are drawn from the bucket and individually called for their 4-5 minutes of stand-up.

  • Host + Guest 2 roast and riff on their sets.

  • Guest comedian 2 takes the stage for their own 8–10 minutes.

Round 3

  • Final 5 comics perform.

  • Host + Guest 3 add their commentary.

  • Guest 3 closes with their 8–10 minute set.

The Finale

All three guests return to the stage to finish the night by reading audience-submitted roasts and “You look like…” notes — sending the crowd home with one last round of laughs.
